How to Configure iPhone and Android for Solavei Mobile Service

When you are bringing your own phone to Solavei, you should also apply these simple settings to optimize your phone performance with Solavei mobile network. This process eliminates potential intermittent issues in relation to MMS, Internet and Data activity.

OPTION 1 – Over-The-Air Setup

Use Phone Self-Care Central to find the proper settings for your specific phone model. Configuration file will be sent to your phone number within 5 minutes.

OPTION 2 – Manual Setup

iPhone

For iPhones

1. From the main menu, tap Settings.
2. Tap “General
3. Tap “Network” (iOS 4 and iOS 5)

• iOS 6 Tap “Cellular

4. Verify the following settings:

• Cellular Data: On (iOS 6)
• Data Roaming: On
• Wi-Fi: Off
• 3G Enable: Off (If Available)

5. Tap “Cellular Data Network
6. Enter the following information under the Cellular Data section

• APN: Solavei
• Username: please leave this blank
• Password: please leave this blank

7. Enter the following information under the MMS section:

• APN: Solavei
• Username: please leave this blank
• Password: please leave this blank
• MMSC: http://solavei.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
• MMS Proxy: please leave this blank
• MMS Max Message Size: please leave this blank
• MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf

8. Press the Home button to save the APN and exit to the main screen.
9. Turn the device off and back on.
10.Test the connection by opening the Safari web browser and searching the web
11.Try sending a picture message.

Important : Make sure your iPhone is unlocked and GSM-compatible.

Only iPhone 5 that supports 1700/2100MHz bands and with serial number ends in FH19, FH1C, FH1D,FH1F,FH1G or FH1H can run Solavei at 4G LTE R10 speed. Otherwise all other iPhones can only utilize Solavei 3G HSPA+/EDGE networks.

Generic Android Phones

For Typical Android Phones

1. On the device, tap the Menu icon.
2. Select Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
3. Press the Menu key and tap New APN.
4. Select Name, enter Solavei and tap OK.
5. Select APN, enter solavei and tap OK.
6. Enter the user name and password listed below. If no value is listed, leave the field blank.

7. Select MMSC, enter http://solavei.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc and tap OK.

MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260

Authentication type: Not set

APN type:default,supl,admin,mms,hipri (no spaces in here)

APN enable/disable: APN enabled.

8.Press the Menu key and select Save
9.Press the radio button next to Solavei to set the profile as default.
10.At this time Please Turn the phone Off and then back On again.
11.Please test the settings by sending an Picture message to yourself.
12.Tap the Menu icon. Tap Browser. Enter http://www.google.com and tap OK.

Samsung Galaxy S2 or S3

For Samsung Galaxy S2 or S3

Start from Settings > More > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.

Make sure you have exactly only one APN that is Solavei, delete all others (if your phone is locked, you won’t be able to delete the current provider APN and that is fine). If APN for Solavei does not exist, create a new one.

Verify all settings are matched to these following information :

Galaxy S2

Password: not set

MMS Proxy: not set
MMS Port: not set

MCC: 310
MNC: 260

Authentication type: none

APN Type:default,supl,mms (no spaces after commas)

APN Protocol: IPv4

Enable/disable APN: APN Enabled

Bearer: Unspecified

If changes were applied, be sure to use the SAVE button at the bottom of the menu and restart your phone. It is recommended to remove the battery for 30s in some case.

Also make sure “Use Packet Data” is enabled for your phone.

LG Optimus L9 Phones

For LG Optimus L9 Phones

LG-Optimus-L9_Hero1. Open Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.

2. You need 2 entries : Solavei Data and Solavei MMS. You may have other APNs but don’t worry about them.
3. Be sure Solavei Data is default and selected.
4. Confirm that these settings are correctly applied :

5.Press the radio button next to Solavei Data to set the profile as default (if not already).
6.At this time Please Turn the phone Off and then back On again.
7.Please test the settings by sending an Picture message to yourself.
8.Tap the Menu icon. Tap Browser. Enter http://www.google.com and tap OK.
